DataPath Announces Partnership with RelayHealth

At our Annual Conference in San Antonio, Connections 08, we formally announced that we have formed a strategic partnership with RelayHealth, the largest healthcare communication, delivery, and collection solution provider in the country. The aim of this partnership is to bring a new level of connectivity to our Plan Service Providers in order to streamline the payment cycle and flow of data, expediting the payment process for Consumer Directed Health services.

The IRS has issued 2009 Index Amounts for Health Savings Accounts

The new 2009 maximum annual HSA contribution has been raised to $3000 for individuals with self-only coverage and to $5950 for family coverage. Catch-up contributions for individuals 55 or older have been increased by statute to $1000 annually for 2009 and all years going forward.

AHIP Center for Policy and Research: 6.1 Million HDHPs as of 2008

The annual census conducted by America’s Health Insurance Providers (AHIP) has found that the number of individuals covered by HSA eligible plans has totaled 6.1 million as of the beginning of this year.

The number of individuals with HSA eligible coverage has increased from last year’s 4.5 million to the new 6.1 million figure. Group market enrollment increased from 3.4 million to 4.6 million lives, and the individual market increased from 1.1 million to 1.5 million lives.
