DataPath CEO’s Article on FSA Grace Periods
in Benefit News

John Robbins Sr., president and CEO of DataPath, Inc., recently had a significant article published in the September 15th issue of Benefit News dealing with the adoption of the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Grace Period to enhance cafeteria plans. One of the drawbacks of Flexible Spending Accounts has always been the use-it-or-lose-it provision. In May of last year, the Internal Revenue Service introduced a Grace Period of up to two months and 15 days.

In his article, Robbins incorporates the survey conducted by Joe Schmitt, director of marketing and flexible benefits for brokerage and consulting firm eBenefits, which addresses the usefulness and flexibility of the Grace Period as well as how FIFO can affect the Grace Period.
