Asset Trailer
Not only have we lowered the cost per account significantly, but we will now pay you an asset trailer on account balances, further reducing your cost to market the HSAToday® program. The asset trailer is based on account balances during the monthly statement cycle. See how your asset trailer is calculated below.
How we determine your PSP Asset:
We use the Goldman Sachs Financial Square money market fund (GSMM) (Ticker: FADXX), as a basis for determining the trailer we pay on accounts you have place with HSAToday®. Effectively, we create a tiered asset payment schedule by taking a graduated percentage of the GSMM. The first tier will pay 30% of GSMM on balances from $0.00 to $499.99, the second tier will pay 21% of GSMM on balances from $500.00 to $1499.99, the third tier will pay 18% of GSMM on balances from $1500.00 to $2499.99, the fourth tier will pay 16.5% of GSMM on balances from $2500.00 to $4999.99, the fifth tier will pay 12% of GSMM on balances from $5000.00 to $7499.99, the sixth tier will pay 9% of GSMM on balances from $7500.00 to $14999.99, the final tier will pay 6% of GSMM on balances of $15000.00 or greater. Asset Trailer Examples
Example 1: If an account has $400.00 each day of the statement cycle, then your asset trailer will be calculated as follows:
Assuming the GSMM rate is 4.65%, your asset rate for balances from 0.00 to 499.99 is 30% of the GSMM Rate or 1.395%. For a Balance of $400.00 your asset trailer is [400.00 X .01395 annual] or [$.46 cents].
Example 2: If an account has a $5,500.00 balance each day of the statement cycle, then your asset trailer will be calculated as follows:
Assuming the GSMM rate is 4.65%, your asset rate for balances from 5000.00 to 7499.99 is 12% of the GSMM Rate or 55.8 basis points. For a Balance of $5,500.00 your asset trailer is [5500.00 X .00558 annual] or [$2.55].
Example 3: If an account has a $1,200.00 balance each day of the statement cycle, then your asset trailer will be calculated as follows:
Assuming the GSMM rate is 4.65%, your asset rate for balances from 500.00 to 1499.99 is 21% of the GSMM Rate or 97.65 basis points. For a Balance of $1,200.00 your asset trailer is [1200.00 X .009765 annual] or [$.97 cents].
