DataPath has developed three options for administering Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) to meet the unique needs of our users whether that need is to:
- Option 1: Track the High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) deductions and the HSA contributions,
- Option 2: Track the HDHP deductions and HSA contributions PLUS offer disbursement management, or
- Option 3: Provide full HSA administration.
Following is how DataPath plans to implement these options and the estimated time of release.
Level 1: DataPath is adding a new feature to DataPath 125 to allow users to track the pretax deductions for the HDHP insurance and the HSA contributions. (Estimated time of release: Summer 2004)
Level 2: The next level is an option under a new DataPath system: DataPath 223-HSA. This option provides Disbursement Management in addition to tracking insurance deductions and HSA contributions. After self-adjudication, the participant will enter the claims on myRSC.com for payment. (Estimated time of release: Before end of 2004) At a later date, this system will be expanded to allow the TPA to provide certification of the legitimacy of claims, insurance payments, and contributions.
Level 3: Level three is another option under DataPath 223-HSA. This option will allow the TPA to administer an HSA which has an outside custodian. (Estimated time of release: Summer 2005)
