Internal Revenue Bulletins (IRBs). Authoritative instrument of the IRS for announcing all substantive ruling necessary to promote a uniform application of tax law.

IRS Drop Library.   IRS Announcements, Notices, Revenue Procedures, and Revenue Rulings usually appear in the Drop Library before being published in the IRB.

IRS Information Letters.  Information Letters provide general statements of well-defined law without applying them to a specific set of facts.

IRS Written Determinations.  Includes private letter rulings, technical advice memoranda, and chief counsel advice. Cannot be used or cited as precedent, but helpful in determining IRS's position.

Internal Revenue Manual (IRM).  Good source for obtaining the IRS's procedures and policies.
