Have Fun at DataPath's Annual Conference!

If you have attended one of DataPath's Annual Conferences, you already know about the great speakers and topics we have. If you haven't attended or heard about them, be assured they are great! That said, let's talk about the fun you can expect at Grand Casino - Tunica. (By the time we have the Conference, Grand Casino may have a name change because of their parent company's pending acquisition by Harrah's Entertainment.)

Grand Casino - Tunica is located in Tunica County, MS, the third largest gaming market in the nation with nine world-class casinos featuring 24-hour gaming plus all the amenities of modern full-service vacation resorts. Since casino gaming was only legalized in Mississippi in 1990, all of the facilities are quite new, luxurious, and beautifully well-kept.

The Casino is on a stationary boat because Mississippi has this law requiring all casinos to be on water, just like the old riverboats. The 140,000 square foot casino features 2,400 slots and 80 table games. The hotel is located nearby on dry land. Click here to see Property Layout.

You can golf at Cottonwoods, an 18-hole Hale Irwin championship course with a Scottish links feel created by its gentle rolling fairways, three lakes and beautifully landscaped cart paths. Cottonwoods is a Par 72, 7,000-yard challenge for seasoned players, and offers a sense of adventure and fun for the novice. If golf is not your sport, maybe you would prefer trap and skeet shooting at The Willows.

If you prefer shopping, the hotel is just 5 minutes from great outlet shopping at the Casino Factory Shops. Here you will find over 30 stores with the best deals on apparel, shoes, jewelry, and home accessories.

Remember, Tunica is only 20 miles from Memphis where you can:

  • Stroll down Beale Street, hear some of the country's best jazz, and eat barbecue
  • Take in Graceland and view Elvis's mansion, cars, plans, jewelry, costumes, and the "Meditation Garden", Elvis's final resting place.
  • Enjoy Mud Island, a 52 acre park devoted to the natural and cultural history of the Mississippi, America's mightiest river! Enjoy a museum, unique river walk, concerts and more!
  • Visit Memphis's many museums and art galleries, including The National Civil Rights Museum located at the Lorraine Motel where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated (the world’s first and only comprehensive overview of the civil rights movement in exhibit form).

After all your activities, you can recuperate at the Bellissimo Spa & Salon that offers a revitalizing experience for your body, mind, and spirit. Their 16,000-square-foot facility offers a complete menu of spa treatments and services, including professional massage therapy, tanning services, hair care, facials, manicures, body treatments, and more. Bring your family! During the Conference, children 6 weeks to 12-years-old can be educated and and entertained at Kid's Quest, a fully supervised fun and activity center. Click here to check out activities, hours, and rates. For teens, there is the Grand Arcade which features over 100 state-of-the-art video games and the most popular games of skill.
