It’s my responsibility to know the rules summarized and issued by the EBIA—from ERISA to COBRA to Health Care Reform—in order to answer any questions our clients might have about compliance.

What do you see as the most important function of your department?
The law is often dense and convoluted. It’s important to summarize and clarify regulations so compliance is easier.

How do you envision your department developing / improving in 5 years?
As government continues to grow, more and more regulations will be issued that will need to be translated for the general public. Creating a department with an expert for each area would provide clients with faster and simpler compliance.

What is the best thing about your job?
Learning about healthcare reform and helping clients with their questions.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?
I’ve been here for a mere three months so trying to understand and remember how the various regulations work in concert can get confusing.
