As a member of the HSAToday® development group, I provide detailed knowledge of the various components of the HSAToday® system.  I design and develop new features, as well as maintain the existing code base.

What do you see as the most important function of your department?
Providing our clients with an easy-to-use system for administrating health savings accounts.

How do you envision your department developing / improving in 5 years?
I expect as the department grows (and our management tools develop), there will be increased separation between the roles of management, design, and development.  As for the focus of our work, I foresee further customization of the HSAToday® system in order to better address our clients needs.  We will add new features and a more intuitive interface for the account holders.  We will revisit previous design decisions to create a system that both models the business rules pertaining to health savings accounts better and makes the process of managing HSAs more efficient.

What is the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is that I am able to participate in many parts of the software development process.  With my knowledge of the system I can help in the design process, yet still be able to implement a solution from the ground up.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?
The most challenging part of my job is managing and prioritizing my various responsibilities so that I can manage my workload.

What is your work background?
I started working at DataPath shortly after graduating from Hendrix College.  Before that my summer jobs included working as a library assistant at the Faulkner County Library, developing the Hendrix Computer Science and Mathematics website, and assisting with an IVR project at Acxiom.

Where were you born?
Little Rock, AR

Family Information
I am currently single.  I have two sisters – Jennie (15) and Laura (23).  Laura worked for short period in DataPath Financial Services.

Hobbies
Playing PC games, playing guitar, drawing, and painting.  I used to define myself by artwork.  I specialize in capturing real-life subjects and accurately depicting light with paint.
