DataPath Annual Conference – A Huge Success

Each year, DataPath hosts an annual conference, Connections, designed to help keep our users up to date with the latest on changes in regulations and market trends. Las Vegas, Nevada was the site of Connections ’06 with attendance and outside temperature well over the century mark. This year’s agenda was packed with many new speakers as well as some familiar faces, all of whom contributed to what was one of the best events ever sponsored by DataPath.

This year’s agenda incorporated presentations from industry leaders such as Janet Guthrie from MasterCard Worldwide and Stephanie Fuoco from Fiserv CPS discussing the role of debit cards in light of recent regulations. Arvin Marchel from Drugstore.com spoke about the importance of merchant connectivity when dealing with electronic payment cards. John Hickman from the law firm of Alston and Bird addressed this important issue by delving into the regulatory maze, metaphorical ball of yarn in hand.

Connections ’06 was about more than just processing debit card transactions, it was about making money. Increasing sales through effective communications, streamlining operations with efficient management tools, and reducing overhead by outsourcing manual administrative functions were just a few of the topics designed to help any administration company enhance their bottom line. Today’s CDHP administration business is about more than just processing claims and issuing checks, it is a business where efficient operations and a quality administration staff will make the difference in any market.

With the lineup of this year’s speakers and sessions, Connections ’06 will be tough to beat, but change is the only constant in this industry, so there will certainly be no shortage of new topics and regulatory changes for us to cover next year at Connections ’07.
